During COVID, hospitals and service providers can remotely proof a patient's identity, and allow a patient to access test results and skip in person interactions like waiting in line at check-in or registration, improving both the safety of people and the efficiency of the process.
Ontario's trusted account digital credential is a part of the broader work being done by the Treasury Board Secretariat and the Ministry of Health to accelerate the adoption of digital identities within Ontario’s Health system. The government of Ontario is leveraging the work done through the PDIAA as part of its Digital Credential Program.
